“Refugees” — Are We Not Importing the Trouble from Which They Flee?

The granting of “asylum” to Third World refugees fleeing “ill-treatment” is tantamount to importing the social conditions which those people have created in their home countries, Andrew Brons MEP has said.

Speaking today during a debate held in the European Parliament on the establishment of a joint EU resettlement (of refugees) programme, Mr Brons said that “victims of ill-treatment, almost by definition, come from countries in which ill treatment is routinely dispensed.

“It might be tempting to see perpetrators and victims as different people. However, victims, when they get the opportunity, very quickly become perpetrators,” he said.

“We have seen this behavioural transition in Libya very recently. Rebel soldiers representing the victims of Gaddafi have been found to be as keen as mustard to deal out arbitrary beatings, torture and summary execution to Gaddafi and his men when they fall into rebel hands.

“When we give sanctuary to people from countries that routinely dispense injustice, are we importing the very behaviour that we condemn and from which the asylum seekers are supposedly fleeing?” Mr Brons asked his colleagues.

“It all depends on whether you see distinct peoples being the product of distinct cultures or you see distinct cultures as the product of distinct peoples. Now there’s a question for you to ponder over!”

* Despite the removal of despotic regimes from North African nations, “refugees” have continued to pour into Europe.

According to figures released by the EU’s statistical arm, the number of Tunisian “asylum seekers” has risen more than 20-fold since the outbreak of the “Arab Spring.”

Last year, the EU figures revealed, Tunisian asylum seekers were arriving at the rate of just 50 a month. Now however they are ranked eight among the main countries of citizenship of asylum seekers.

Furthermore, the EU analysis said that Britain was a prime destination country for “Libyan asylum seekers” because of extensive Libyan economic and family contacts in the UK.

  1. Post1997 our society has degenerated into a dangerous madness. There are no genuine asylum seekers just illegal immigrants chancing their luck. Villains who claim to be victims, people asking for help but fully intending to do us harm. What can stop this tsunami, apopular rebellion!

  2. The refugees bring with them – under multi-culturalistic encouragement – the very things they are fleeing from which if you think about it is a bit pointless. It is like someone coming to the country thinking what a wonderful place it is, and then bringing all their friends and family there; it is no longer the country! Just so with Britain. They first came here to be with the British people and now they have displaced and replaced them! Mad? Very much so.
