The Trader Who Told the Truth

By Mark Pritchard. What the stock market speculators who gamble away our livelihoods with other people’s money really think was revealed on the BBC News Channel on Monday 26th September.

They look forward to recessions that dump millions of ordinary people on the dole because they see a chance to make lots of money, realise whatever EU bosses say the euro is doomed, and know that shadowy international financial institutions wield more power than governments.

Alessio Rastani, who describes himself on his website as “an experienced market trader and forex dealer” was being interviewed by the BBC about the current global economic crisis and whether world governments were going to fix it when he blurted out:  “For most traders, we don’t really care that much how they’re going to fix the economy, how they’re going to fix the whole situation – our job is to make money from it.”

He went on: “Personally I’ve been dreaming of this moment for three years. I have a confession, which is I go to bed every night, I dream of another recession.”

He then bragged about the loadsamoney he and his ilk would make from the misery of millions losing their jobs and life savings.  Something he gleefully expected to happen soon.

He went on to dismiss the sundry schemes and statements of  EU bigwigs and eurozone governments with the remark that whatever they did now the euro was “toast”. Something everyone in the know has long realised but few have openly said.

Anyway, he added, as far as the EU governments and their  latest rescue package went: “The governments don’t rule the world. [Investment bank] Goldman Sachs rules the world. Goldman Sachs does not care about this rescue package, neither do the big funds.”

This charming character is the very model of the City-based, finance sector “service economy” successive Governments, Labour and Tory/LibDem, have tried to encourage to grow in our country to replace our gutted manufacturing centre. Slimy selfish Stock Market speculator slickers and spivs of foreign extraction like Rastani – not the world-beating engineers of BAe they have just dumped on the dole queue – are the heroes and role models for Cameron, Clegg and Miliband.

They may be their heroes, but they certainly aren’t ours. Their ill-gotten gains should be confiscated and they should be slung in jail where they belong. Sewing mailbags would be the first useful work they have ever done…

  1. I believe we should focus more of our anger towards organisations such as Goldman Sachs, The IMF and the World Bank. The disgusting individuals who run and do the work of such organisations should not be put into prison with murderers, thieves and such. These soulless beings should be afforded every cruelty we can place upon them before letting them die slow deaths.
Our elders are dying of cold, our children brought up encouraged to ignore their past and is respect their families, all to keep the system that supports these parasites running.

We should hammer them relentlessly, reveal who they are, what they have done, the influence they have upon our spineless leaders. We only have words to defeat them, so we should use them well and often.
