Second Leaflet Distributed in Wyke Ward local election, Bradford

On bank holiday Monday, 2nd May, half a dozen stalwart British Democrat activists were out in Wyke Ward distributing a second election leaflet on behalf of the party candidate Jim Lewthwaite, ahead of polling day due on Thursday 5th May. Counting of votes will take place the following day, Friday 6th May. The first A4 size leaflet was delivered to all homes in the ward a fortnight ago, followed by this week’s smart A5 size leaflet printed on thin white card. Both leaflets were designed and produced in-house by the party.

To keep things simple and efficient the candidate acted as his own agent but was ably assisted by local organiser Liam Kernaghan. The back of the leaflet exposes the threat that immigration and the EU pose to the local NHS, particularly the proposed infliction of TTIP. To combat competition from UKIP the leaflet features a revealing 2013 admission from Nigel Farage that “UKIP is NOT an anti-immigration party. We WANT immigration. We WELCOME immigration.” It’s good to hear the truth about UKIP from the horse’s mouth!

Jim is a veteran nationalist and a long-time local resident, who has previously been a nationalist councillor in Wyke ward between 2004 and 2007. At that time Jim had tried to get the Council to tackle the scandal of grooming of young white girls by local Asian gangs, but all the other parties had disgracefully refused to help.

Jim believes that Bradford Council should not lavish rate-payers money on vanity projects in the inner city, while neglecting residents of Wyke Ward who are equally deserving of resources. He supports local people being given priority in social housing, investment in community facilities and the protection of adult social care. Jim aims to achieve a fairer deal for local residents.

Many houses in the ward are constructed of picturesque local Yorkshire stone, which is reminiscent of a bygone era and appealing to those who appreciate traditional values. There is a mixture of more expensive housing adjacent to pre-war back to back and 1920/30s terraced housing. There are also a number of former council estates, now predominantly run by housing associations.

In Bradford as a whole more than 35% of the population is of non-British origin, although in Wyke ward the population of around 15,000 residents is predominantly white (91%). There is a high proportion of 60-79 year olds, which is higher than the district average.

  1. ( Party Official ) Well Done and Good Luck , from the other end of England , DORSET , BRITISH DEMOCRAT’S.

  2. ( Party Official ) Could we have a copy of both leaflet’s with our Next BULLETIN ? Not everyone uses computers and our Members would be pleased and proud to hear how the Party is getting on.

  3. Note:
When people cite demographics they need to make sure the figures are correct. I have been there, no way are there 1350 people of non-white origin living in that area. (9% of 15,000) There is over 7,000 properties in that ward. At an average of 2/3 people per property that would equate to over 500 properties would be occupied by a non-white demographic. The leafleting teams, including myself would have come across at maximum 50 houses that fall into this group. In four days I can count the non-British population I came across on two hands.

  4. The ward is like going back decades. It is full of independent shops, pubs every few roads and the foreign population is minimal. It is actually a shock when you come across non-British person, even the newsagents are run by the British. Bradford shows how a policy of mass immigration doesn’t work, it is a divided city split along nationality and cultural lines.

  5. Good luck Jim.

  6. Sterling efforts by all British Democrat activists concerned. The only Party in Wyke that is telling the whole truth, and nothing but the truth…which is a very controversial thing to do thesedays.
