In Memory of Trigger, the Philosopher

Roger Lloyd-Pack (1944-2014) would not head the queue of people for whom I would write a tribute. If I did write a tribute, I am sure that Mr. Lloyd-Pack and his friends would be appalled. He was a member of the Labour Party until 2012, when he resigned and joined Left Unity. I was going to say, “No I hadn’t heard of them either,” when I suddenly thought somebody might say about us………well never mind what they might say about us!

However, Mr. Lloyd-Pack was an accomplished actor and it must not be thought an easy task for an intelligent man to play the part of a fool. He played the part of Colin ‘Trigger’ Ball, next to David Jason, as Del Boy, and Nicholas Lyndhurst, as Rodney, in ‘Only Fools and Horses’. Trigger was portrayed as a particularly dim road sweeper. I am sure that Mr. Lloyd-Pack, as a socialist, would be as reluctant as we to stigmatise road sweepers as uniformly dim. I have known many holders of unglamorous occupations who had infinitely greater critical faculties than those in the most exalted stations of life and work.

Indeed, Trigger’s remarks contained almost philosophical points.

On one occasion, Del Boy asked him: “How long (have) you had that brush now Trigger?”

Trigger replied: “Twelve years, Del but it’s had seven new handles and ten new heads”.

I am told that this is known among philosophers as the identity question. No, I hadn’t heard of that either but I had been acquainted with the question How much does a: “thing have to change before it ceases to be the same thing?”

I was once asked by one of the Vice Presidents of the Parliament (that was a bit of name dropping without mentioning the name if you hadn’t noticed!) what was the difference between ‘us’ and UKIP. From our current perspective, the identity of ‘us’ might be another identity question  but more of that later.

I replied:

“It is as though they and we were both attached to the family house and wanted to keep it safe. However, whilst we wanted to preserve our family home with our family still in it, they were attached to the house regardless of which family dwelt there!”

All of the parties fall over themselves to chant the obligatory catechism before mentioning anything tenuously connected to immigration or ethnicity: “Mind you, I’m  not a racist. It’s all about numbers; its about space not race”. I first heard that from somebody in the BNP who later left to join the NF but not before I had put him right about that! All of the others, including UKIP, have an identical message: “If the number (of British people) leaving is equal to or greater than the number (of Third World, Afro-Asians) coming in, we have no net immigration and there is no problem”. Even if net immigration were nil for this reason, there would still be a problem – a big problem.  Immigrants from Africa and Asia are not replacement Britons or other Europeans. Distinctive peoples are not the product of distinctive cultures; distinctive cultures are the product of distinctive peoples. If Britain becomes increasingly populated with immigrants and their descendants, from the Third World, it will become, increasingly, part of the Third World.

‘Culture’ is not a magical balm that transforms those who are treated with it. When people, in large numbers, enter a new culture, they are not changed by the culture; the culture is changed by them.

It is worth mentioning, almost as an afterthought, that net immigration under the Coalition is almost identical to that which we experienced during Labour rule.

The identity question becomes an identity crisis: what does ‘we’ refer to when the indigenous population of Britain is being replaced by immigrants? Even Trigger’s philosophical brush won’t sweep this problem under the carpet forever.

  2. Actors are notorious for fantasy land left-wing politics.

Part of it is an eye on the main chance – getting in with the BBC.

  3. Very good article. I always enjoy re-watching old videos of Only Fools And Horses. RIP Trigger.

I have always found it odd that so many actors are indeed ‘left-wing’. It’s as though they grew up in a slummy area and then got out, but never went back there. So they never saw how the place had changed or rather, how the population had changed. Or if they did, they didn’t mind as they had no intention of going back to live there.

Someone else comes to mind, J.K. Rowling, who is one of the biggest donors to the Labour party, and a friend of Cherie Blair.

Ah well, it takes all kinds I suppose.

  4. The Big Lie pumped out by the tightly controlled mainstream has been accepted as truth by most of our people. But we are NOT all the same under the skin.

Although we share many genes with earthworms and monkeys, the different human races have differing sets, which produce differences in functioning. The honest scientists admit we have thousands of ‘silent’ genes whose function remains unknown.

The last four honest researchers, authors and lecturers were harassed and forced out by the anti-white thugs in our Marxist-controlled universities ten year’s ago lucky to keep their pensions after expensive legal fights.

Scientific research on racial differences is now almost forbidden!

It is now probably a ‘hate crime’ to suggest that white European civilisation has ever been better than African or Asian.

  5. I can think of a significant number of actors with Labour Party or left connections. It’s not that you have to be a ‘socialist’ to get on with the BBC or media in general, but it sure helps. It’s sickening how these very people spout on about ‘equality’, whilst refusing to extend equality to their political opponents.

    • There is only one person I can think of in the whole of the BBC over a lifetime who has been remotely not left-wing in the way that, for example, the many ‘alternative ‘ comedians are left-wing – that chap on the programme about cars.

  6. (Party Member) The number of British people fleeing our shores in despair is a national tragedy. I hope we adopt a policy of financially assisting them to return, once we have assisted some other people to leave.

    • John, visit any Spanish tourist spot and you will find a Bar (usually showing English football) adopted by expat British. Most spend the day getting pissed on cheap booze and the last thing on their mind is the state of old Blighty.

  7. Only Fools and Horses is typical BBC rubbish which has helped to further send our people asleep as to what is happening around them (if that is possible).

It left a large number of its viewers thinking Peckham was full of white Cockneys with a sprinkle of ethnics.

Anyone who knows Peckham knows it is a Third World dump where most of the indigenous people have left long ago.

The actor who played Trigger, was the rich leftie type who would have welcomed the replacement of the original people of London, as long as he did not have to live in places such as Peckham.

Television has been a curse, and has played a large part in our people accepting everything they are told and swallowing fantasy bull such as Fools and Horses as fact not fiction, while their country is taken off them.

    • East Enders is another ongoing lie about the ethnic make-up of London. The East End is now dominated by Moslem Asians.

I can think of only one female Asian Moslem with Moslem attitudes, wearing a headscarf or other Moslem attire, who had a speaking role – ever in East Enders. And she was slapped down for her ‘racism’ by another Asian, right-thinking this time.

Just what you expect from an organisation which is simply a lying propaganda outfit for immigration and multiculturalism?

      • Yes, EastEnders (or DepressedEnders as I prefer to call it) is a real farce and a perfect example of how the BBC manipulate the truth into a PC fantasy world.

In the real world, the London boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham and Hackney have very few real British people left in them yet how does the BBC portray the area on TV? Why full of whites! I bet if the BBC were to make the programme realistic then many whites would switch off and watch or do something else which is why they don’t do this. Also, the BBC don’t want to frighten whites in other parts of the country as to the ethnic make-up of increasingly large parts of what used to be our capital city.

How do I know personally how unrealistic EastEnders is? Well, I live less than 30 miles away in Essex and have to travel through the EastEnd to visit central London on the train and tube.

        • It’s not a question of where Walford is but a question of when. EastEnders is trapped in a time warp and represents the EastEnd of the late 1970’s or early 80’s!

Clearly the BBC’s Hampstead scriptwriters have lost touch with reality as indeed have most of the brain dead who watch this brain numbing garbage. If I recall correctly there is not a single ward in the Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham or Hackney where indigenous Britons remain in the majority. In the EastEnd, in fact throughout London, indigenous Britons are just another minority group.

I wonder what Trigger would make of that Dave?

          • “Represents the East End of the late 1970′s or early 80′s”. Yes James exactly the time the scriptwriters fled the area to live in Hampstead leaving the working class plebs to suffer the misery of mass immigration.

        • My grandparents are from Whitechapel, they don’t recognise it anymore.

    • The problem is this type of show was a far easier way to spread their insidious programme of hate. News bulletins were not.

But even saying that “Fools and Horses” did have some funny moments. Our trouble is, seeing the propaganda, we cannot enjoy the actual content. In terms of comedy the BBC excelled against the commercial stations. Sometimes one needs to chillax.

  8. Anyone remember the Batman and Robin episode on Fools and Horses? It is generally reckoned to be one of the funniest episodes of the series. However it is shocking in its political correctness. Peckham was identified in the late ’70’s – less than ten years before the episode was filmed – as a mugging blackspot. To be precise it was an area where according to the Metropolitan Police 80% of the muggers were black and 80% of the victims were white , mainly elderly white females. So how did Fools and Horses portray a Peckham mugging? Why a gang of white kids mugging a middle-aged black woman of course. Shameful absolutely shameful. Yet how many white couch potatoes watching the show made that connection or, if they did, complained about it? How many Fools and Horses actors protested that distortion of fact? None I suspect. They knew which side of their bread was buttered. The scene can be viewed on YouTube.

  9. Longshanks is right to emphasise that we are not all the same under the skin, and it is indeed genes that show our differences (‘superiority’ is not the issue).

There is now plenty of scientific evidence to show that around 360 genes account for the differences in individuals and races, although political correctness makes it difficult for people to access these facts. I attempted to pull the evidence together in my article ‘How small genetic differences give racial diversity’ published here on July 14th 2013. To access it click on ‘immigration’ in the bar at the top of the page and then click on ‘race’.

    • As John Bean says, it’s not about superiority. It’s about difference.

People prefer to be with people like themselves and this is the principle barrier to the multi ‘utopia’. It’s not voluntary! It has to be imposed by the pretence that there are no differences between peoples.

The big drawbacks to looking at race and intelligence are that averages tell you nothing about an individual and that more intelligence does not necessarily equal greater virtue. It is often the reverse.

It’s natural for peoples to feel superior to others. It’s a part of the bonding within communities. What is now so objectionable is that every other people in the world is encouraged to feel superior – but it’s an unspeakable evil for whites to blow their own trumpet!

  10. Readers of the BDP site are reminded that anyone can comment.

Comment is not restricted to members as with some parties.

  11. The BBC is the propaganda organ of the British state fulfilling the same role as Pravda once did for the Soviet Union. Understand that and you’ll understand the real role of BBC soaps and other programming.

  12. The article was not about whether Only Fools and Horses was accurate, funny or worth watching. It was not about whether Roger Lloyd-Pack was good bad or indifferent.
It had one theme: you cannot change the parts of something without changing ‘the thing’. You cannot change the population of a country so radically and pretend that the nation is the same. The main parties and UKIP pretend that you can do just that. Their addled thinking about ‘the nation’ is no better than Trigger’s thinking about his brush. They are either just as dim as Trigger……. or of course they are not.

  13. If they depicted the East End as it really is how many viewers would they keep? As a member of OFAH Appreciation Society, I wonder-were Trigger and Owen from the Vicar of Dibley related?
