Greece Digs Trench to Stop Invasion: Why Enlarging the EU is Madness

Greece might on the verge of economic collapse, but is still building a deep trench along the Evos River to try and stop thousands of illegal immigrants entering Europe from Turkey.

The 75 mile trench, originally intended to relieve flood pressure on the river, is now been widened by authorities in an attempt to halt the ever increasing wave of invaders who enter Greece each year.

The water-filled trench will be 998 feet wide and 22 feet deep, according to Greek newspapers. The first section has just been completed near the town of Orestiada in northern Greece on the Turkish border.

“It’s a military operation, officials have kept it secret for the last few months,” a source told the news bureau Deutsche Welle.

According to official Greek figures, at least 128,000 illegals invaded Greece from Turkey last year, a dramatic increase over previous years.

Under EU rules, Greece is obliged to prevent illegals without documents from moving on to other parts of Europe. In practice, this is of course impossible.

The “free movement” status of the EU means that there are no border checks of note, and Greece’s euro membership has contributed towards a general economic collapse which has severely affected its ability to cope with the invasion from Turkey.

According to Deutsche Welle, illegals come over the border “every five minutes” and both Greek and EU officers on patrol there are overwhelmed by the sheer numbers.

If Turkey is successful in joining the EU, as the traitors in Westminster want it to, then there will become impossible to hold back this Third World tidal wave in any form.

Even more disturbingly, Turkey has recently relaxed all its border controls with most Middle Eastern nations. This means that once granted free access to the EU, masses of Middle Easterners will be able to legally enter all of Europe.

Turkey’s entry into the EU therefore represents one of the biggest demographic threats yet to Europe.
