EU’s Embrace of Globalism and Neo-Liberal Economics Will “Defeat Growth Strategy”

The European Union’s embrace of Globalism and Neo-Liberal Economics of open markets and maximised competition will defeat any strategy for growth, Andrew Brons MEP has said.

Speaking during a debate in the European Parliament this week on the Multiannual Financial Framework (a major overhaul of the EU Budget negotiated at seven year intervals), Mr Brons said that “Paying for Growth is not like paying for a product.

“You might pay your money without receiving what you have paid for.

“In the 2008-14 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) period, 44.4 percent of the EU Budget was spent on Sustainable Growth.

“This will  go up to 48 percent in the 2014-2020 MFF.

“Is it really being spent effectively? Does the EU really know how to spend member states’ money better than they do?

“The EU’s embrace of Globalism and Neo-Liberal Economics of open markets and maximised competition will defeat any strategy for growth.

“As Sir James Goldsmith said a decade ago: the only way the West would compete with the Emergent Economies in a Free Market would be by our wage levels equalling theirs.

“It is all very well to think that our Research and Development will make our industries more competitive, but innovation spreads by industrial piracy countries of the Far East and industrial treachery by Western based Multi-Nationals.

“The Commission’s Europe 2020 document waxed lyrically about Europe’s talented work forces but that presupposed that the present populations of Europe would survive and would not be replaced by immigration.”

  2. (Party Member) SAN MARINO ESCAPES MASS IMMIGRATION, BY DEFAULT! The tiny state of San Marino, located within the borders of Italy and usually only known because of it’s hapless football team and occasional Grand Prix, has just had a referendum on European Union Membership. 50.3 % voted yes and 49.7 % voted no. However, because only 20% of the Electorate bothered to vote, the result is invalid. How the people who voted yes thought their tiny state could cope with the mass Immigration caused by a large portion of the world’s population being suddenly eligible to live there is a matter of wonder! Maybe they would be exempt and if so why can’t we be exempt from the mass movement of peoples legislation?
