Britain Must Stay Out of the Middle East, Andrew Brons MEP Tells Euro Parliament

Britain must adopt a policy of neutrality in the Middle East and support a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian crisis, Andrew Brons MEP has said.

Speaking during a debate in the European Parliament held yesterday on the situation in Palestine and the Middle East peace process, Mr Brons said that his starting position was of neutrality.

“We do not believe that the United Kingdom should be involved in the dispute on one side or the other,” Mr Brons said.

“However, I would hope that this would not be neutrality of indifference. I too would like to see an enduring peace between these two peoples.

“Neutrality demands an even-handed approach,” Mr Brons continued.

“The UN in 1947 envisaged in General Assembly Resolution 181 two separate states:  one Jewish and one Palestinian.

“If one state deserves recognition, so does the other. If a negotiated peace is not a precondition for the recognition of Israel, nor should such a negotiated peace be a precondition for recognition of Palestine as a state.

“I believe that it will be easier for the government of a recognised Palestinian state to restrain and control the activities of its citizens then the head of an ill-defined ‘entity’ to restrain and control its inhabitants.

“It will be easier for a recognised state to negotiate peace with authority,” Mr Brons said.

The debate was held as the United Nations Security Council agreed to send a Palestinian application for statehood to its admissions committee for review. The review meeting is scheduled for Friday.

The US has promised to veto the application, so it is unlikely to be accepted, despite widespread support elsewhere in the world.

American foreign policy is heavily influenced by the Zionist lobby in Washington DC, in particular by the American Israel Political Action Committee (AIPAC). This ensures that the US is permanently biased in favour of Israel, which in turn engenders hate for America (and by extension, Britain) in the Islamic world.

While a U.S. veto would block the bid for full U.N. membership, the General Assembly could still vote to upgrade the status of Palestinians, who currently hold the status of non-voting observer “entity.”

The body could change that status to permanent observer “state,” identical to the Vatican’s standing at the United Nations.

  1. A principled stance.
I see, only by watching Russia Today I might add, that within a day of Abbas’ speech at the UN calling for an end to the annexation of Palestinian land Israel announces the go ahead for a further 1100 homes for “settlers” as part of its colonisation.
Despite this being a clear provocation all the “Quartet” does is wave it’s communal finger and go tut tut.
So other than arranging dodgy deals and raking in the money by the shed load what exactly does His Highness The Almighty Most Powerful One Tony Blair do as the “Quartet’s” representative ? Not a lot.

  2. At last a mention of AIPAC! While I understand the sensitivity of the situation when criticising anything ostensibly ‘Jewish’ – especially when coming from parties that the press demonise as fascistic – I have been rather disappointed at this site’s previous aversion from printing comments critical of Zionist activities in the Middle East and the Ocidental world (such as my own). If we do not address said Zionist activities – especially when speaking about imperialism, capitalism and Communism – then we will never get to the root of the problem of how the Occidental world has been so transformed. I refer you to the biography of H G Wells ‘The Invisible Man’, by the Jewish scholar Michael Coren for an admission of how Jews infiltrated and manipulated the workers’ cause in Britain, becoming the leaders of the Socialist movement.

[Ed’s note: You are mistaken in thinking that this site does not mention such topics. Obviously you missed this article, for example, http://nationalistunityforum.co.uk/?p=1973 )

  3. ( Party Member ) Whilst following Party Policy ( as usual ) by not wishing to get involved in other Countries affairs , I note with amusement that the black Etheopian Jews in Israel have NOT blended in with normal society in Israel. Their BEHAVOUR has been a disgrace so far and as we speak are RIOTING against the Police. Sounds familiar !
