Brexit at last

Brexit at last
Three and a half years after the Referendum in favour of quitting the EU, today, 31st January 2020, at 11.00pm Britain finally ceased membership of the European Union.
Even so, we will be in a transition period until the end of 2020, during which time we will have to abide by EU rules, continue to pay billions as a temporary EU member and be prohibited from entering into trade agreements with any non-EU countries.
It has been a long slog, stymied at every opportunity by “remoaners”, who sought to reverse the result of the democratic Referendum and keep Britain in the “corrupt, undemocratic and unworkable” EU  – as described by the EU’s own former Chief Accountant, Marta Andreasen.
But today is a day for celebration and rejoicing – we have gained the right to our independence and freedom at last. We optimistically hope, and expect, our green and pleasant land to go from strength to strength in future years, unshackled from the dictatorial and bureaucratic EU.
