BBC Presenter sacked because she’s ‘too blond’

Report by John Bean

My wife (who was brought up on a farm) and I were regular watchers of BBC’s Country File programme. I was particularly keen to see the programme on July 19th as it featured Northumberland, where many of my ancestors came from. We realise, of course, that the BBC never miss an opportunity to drop in a non-European face – the darker the hue the better – in any programme in order to project the main reason for its existence that Britain is a multicultural society.

Within five minutes we realised that of the five presenters, two were of non-European origin.  Matt Baker was still there as he should be as a Northumbrian. Instead of   seeing Ellie Harrison with the long blond locks, we saw the confirmation that she has now been replaced by Anita Rani ( at 37 the same age as Ellie), born in Bradford of Sikh and Hindu parentage.  Ten minutes went by and from out of the sea up pops a very black face. This was a marine biologist to inform us of the types of sea creatures you can find off the North East coast. Nothing wrong with his delivery, but you couldn’t see his face with the brightness of the sea behind him when he talked into camera. I wonder how many hours BBC researchers spent in order to get their black Marine Biologist?

Anita Rani’s delivery was as if she was reading it from an autocue and you could tell she was really out of her depth in the white countryside. Particularly as, according to my wife, she’s  been quite effective in town locations for BBC’s  The One Show.

I e-mailed the BBC’s Complaints Department and told them that even though the programme was primarily for the farming community and other country dwellers, this was obviously a very secondary aspect to the BBC’s entrenched view of giving priority to multiculturalism.  I acknowledged Anita Rani’s abilities in Town and city reporting, but stressed that my wife and I will not be watching Country File in future.

A few days later I read in the press that Ellie Harrison, who was brought up on a Cotswold farm, was sacked because she was “too blond”.

Even if we get replies such as follows if more people wrote or e-mailed to the BBC Complaints department perhaps it might slow their campaign down, if nothing else.

Dear Mr Bean

Thank you for contacting us regarding 'Countryfile' as broadcast on 19 July.

We understand you're unhappy with Anita Rani being selected to co-host the programme, as you feel the BBC is giving priority to multiculturalism. We note you feel Anita is better suited to 'The One Show'.

The range of tastes and opinions held by our audience is so diverse that it's inevitable some viewers will dislike or disapprove of certain presenters. It's a very rare television presenter who meets with everyone's approval, and it's clear that opinions on individual presenters can vary considerably.

Anita was appointed on the basis of her experience and talent, but opinions on presenters are often subjective and we would never expect everyone to agree with every choice we make. We don't engage any producer, presenter, interviewer or reporter unless we believe they're competent and can meet the specific demands required of them, irrespective of race or gender.

Your views are important to us and we welcome feedback from our audience to help us create enjoyable programming for all. We’d like to assure you that we’ve registered your comments fully. We value your feedback, all complaints are sent to senior management and programme makers every morning and we included your points in this overnight report.

These reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the BBC and ensures that your complaint has been seen by the right people quickly. This helps inform their decisions about current and future programmes.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.

Kind regards

Laura McCammond

  1. Well sacking someone for being to blonde is now a racist hate crime. If that was the case. But the real question you must ask is how many are refused a job in the first instance because of their whiteness. Whilst those with inferior CV’s but the right minority are given the jobs. This of course includes Jews who are over represented in the BBC and all MSM worldwide.

    • The sooner BBC content resembles the multiracial fetishes of Danny Cohen, Alan Yentob, Barbara Roche and Greville Janner (take your pick from many) then the better.

White, liberal TV personalities are much better at furthering liberalism than having a overwhelming multiracial cast. The effect on society of the past 70 years of BBC content has been testament to this. For example Nick Robinson (barring other affiliations) is a much more reassuring to the public than Weyman Bennett or Diana Abbott.

I gladly await ‘The only way is Essex’ to be declared “Hideously White” by the liberal establishment to be replaced by the spin off ‘The only way is Mogadishu’ coupled with a purge of the overly ‘privileged’ White male employees. They can be the victims of their own success.

  2. She’s too blonde, too beautiful, too talented a presenter, and has a close affinity to rural life. This combination was bound to aggravate the liars, self loathers and social engineers of the bbc.

  3. Generally speaking, you don’t have to be either a pervert or from an ethnic minority to get on at the BBC – but it certainly helps.

  4. I stopped watching country file years ago it is very false and biased

    • Compared to what the BBC laughingly refers to as 'news'  ande 'current affairs' it is a paragon of jounalistic balance though!

  5. i will not be watching country file again on principle even though it was one of my favourite programs,I don’t like racism in any form she is the best presenter on the show

  6. There is only one ”form of racism” as far as the bbc and media in general are concerned, and that is the ”racism” of whites…. any racial violence or prejudice against us is seldom if ever attributed to ”racism”. Look at the genocide of whites in South Africa, to even raise the issue means you yourself are a ”racist”. If science proves unpalatable to the liberal it is dismissed as ”scientific racism” …”Racist” is an all powerful branding system for those who don’t conform this warped Marxist ideology.

    • t is probably the most powerful word in history and one which scares away rational thought in people who are, on the surface at least, entirely rational human beings. How could such a word acquire such immense power invented as it was by a Marxist nutter called Leon Trosky?

  7. Disgusting but predictable this stunning young blue eyed blonde makes me proud of my racial heritage. Instead we have to suffer the torture of watching ugly, repulsive, objects especially on the BBC.

  8. I believe the time is now right for the BDP to relight the debate on the abolision of the corrupt House of Lords. The recently published antics of a coke snorting member has once again shown us that these parasites need to be given there p45 sharpish.Do we really need 800 spongers claiming £300 a day when millions of working folk are working 40 hours per week for less ! We need to appeal to the younger voters and this is I feel a vote winner for us .

  9. She can use the Mark Souster v BBC 2001 case to sue sue for anti-English racial discrimination.

Mr Souster WON has case against the BBC but they still don’t seem to have learnt their lessons

  10. McCammond letter does not address the point posed in Mr Bean’s letter. She focuses on the qualities, as she perceives them, of the presenter Anita Rani. But she does not address the suspect process Mr Bean understandably suspects was used by the BBC to choose and appoint Anita Rani. The BBC is an absurd organisation as is does not understand the views of a majority of its audience. Instead, it writes off any views that oppose its own as racist, or sexist, or bigoted. Society would benefit hugely if the BBC started to wind down its affairs…which it will need to do if the government removes its unfair advantage, i.e. the licence fee. Given a choice, most fair-minded people would not pay to watch the tripe served up by today’s BBC.
