A Brief Foray into Lancashire – by Andrew Brons

Burnley LeafletingDr. Jim Lewthwaite, the  Acting Yorkshire Regional Organiser and  I went across the now invisible border between Yorkshire to visit Colne, Nelson and Burnley. However, we had no sinister intent and we have no territorial claims on Lancashire – apart from Barnoldswick, of course, which was always part of the West Riding. I campaigned in Barnoldswick, on behalf of the National Front, in 1968

I did however have a message for the Lancastrians about my campaign against grooming in the European Parliament.  MEPs talk frequently about human trafficking but they speak about it as though it always involved transporting girls and women across national borders. It does not. The United Nations has a  definition of human trafficking that includes:

“The recruitment of  persons by fraud or deception for the purpose of exploitation in the form of prostitution”.

Grooming is therefore a form of human trafficking and if the EU is concerned about human trafficking, it must also be concerned about grooming. My EU Parliamentary leaflet brings this to people’s attention.

We distributed copies of  the British Democratic Party’s Get Britain Back to Work leaflet, door-to-door, with local activists, Steve Smith, Gary Topping and Robert Storey. More leaflets will be distributed over the next few weeks. This is not just about  Getting Britain Back to Work, it is about Getting the Movement Back to Work, after its disgraceful fragmentation by Griffin.
